Welsh/Scottish Clock

/gallery/thumb/155/155_1488218422.jpg
Mahogany tall clock with signed face. The form of this grandfather clock is Scottish and the town on the face is Welsh. It was found in Wales in a farmhouse. The bonnet has scrolled solid frieze above inlaid and cross banded arch with three carved pinwheel flowers. The inner surround of the clock face is also scrolled. The arch of the face is a sea side scene. The case has string inlay and lambs tongue chamfers and is unusual in originally having front feet with the wall working as the back feet. It now has a third foot center back to insure it doesn’t fall. 1830. The face is signed “Wm. Jones, Tredegar”. This is a town in Blaenau Gwent County in South Wales. 91 1/4 inches tall.$8900.00

Ref #: A14032
